Adoption of AI: What are the benefits?

Over the past three years, AI has become a core part of how I deliver results and improve performance.

My journey started with Google Ads, using Google's AI-powered testing capabilities to refine campaigns through a continuous test-and-learn approach. This has been particularly effective in areas such as geo-targeting and audience segmentation, where data-driven decisions can have a significant impact.

Audience segmentation, when done well, provides valuable insight into how people discover information, consider their options, and ultimately make purchasing decisions. It helps us understand motivations, behaviours, and even the emotional drivers behind a conversion. Models such as COM-B can be incredibly useful in shaping strategy, but it's important to remember that people are individuals. Everyone is on their own journey, moving at their own pace. Choosing to engage with a brand is a significant step.

This is where AI and Google Ads work exceptionally well together. We can place relevant content into the market, monitor performance closely, and adapt quickly based on what the data tells us. Better still, AI can handle much of the optimisation for us. By setting clear objectives and programming campaigns around specific outcomes, we can nurture prospects more effectively and support the ultimate goal: conversion.

The results have been highly successful. That said, AI is not a "set it and forget it" solution. It requires ongoing refinement, thoughtful adjustments, and a willingness to evolve alongside the technology. The models are constantly learning, and so should we. My advice? Lean into it. Treat your AI tools as collaborators and maintain an active, two-way conversation.

Beyond Google Ads, I've been exploring other large language models, including OpenAI ChatGPT. I find it incredibly helpful for transforming complex, often highly structured thoughts into content that is clearer, more accessible, and easier for others to understand. It allows me to communicate ideas more effectively without losing depth.

I've also found Anthropic Claude particularly valuable when working with large datasets and detailed spreadsheets. Identifying patterns and trends has always been one of my strengths, but AI accelerates that process significantly. In many ways, I see these tools as a second brain—helping me process information faster, reduce overwhelm, and navigate large volumes of data with greater confidence.

My next step is exploring AI agents. I'm particularly interested in how they can support tasks such as writing, diary management, scheduling, and structuring content for both websites and social media. Not to replace the thinking or strategy, but to streamline the execution and delivery.

The biggest challenge remains finding the right balance between automation and authenticity. But when implemented well, AI can remove inefficiencies and free up more time for the work that truly matters.

I'm excited to see how this develops over the coming months.

I'll be sharing more thoughts, practical examples, and real-world applications of AI in my daily work next week.

Have you discovered an AI hack that's transformed the way you work? I'd love to hear about it.
